CONGRATULATIONS - AVPA - BRADDOCK THEATRE ARTS

Congratulations are in order for Braddock Theatre Arts once again!

This past Saturday, Braddock Theatre Arts students attended and performed at the District 8 One Act Play Festival at Hialeah Sr. High. 28 schools presented one act plays for adjudication. This is our first performance at the festival since 2007.

Our Braddock students performed a stage adaptation of Gertrude Stein's First Reader and received an Excellent Rating. They did an outstanding job and we were one of only eight schools to receive this rating.

The cast and technical staff for the production included: Samantha Angel-Bello, Katherine Cuevas, Tommy Casparian, Joy Batallan, Damian Soris, Idania Ramos, Ritchie Rodriguez, Raul Martinez, Helen Lopez, Emily Gonzalez, Sheila Pereda, Laura Gomez and Daniel Benitez.

Tommy Casparian was also awarded an All-Star Cast Award for outstanding acting performance work.

Marching Band earns Superior

The Marching Band earned the overall rating of Superior at the district Music Performance Assessment Evaluations that took place in Traz Powell Stadium at Miami Dade College.

They got superior in ensemble music, individual performance, and auxiliary (color guard). They got an excellent in marching, and visual effect.

Awards for Incredible Gardens: The Art of Collaged Organic Imagery @ Pinecrest Gardens

CONGRATS ! to student BRUNO FERRINI and teacher Mr. Hechavarria from the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA). Brunno’s art work was  accepted in the "Art of Collaged Organic Imagery @ Pinecrest Gardens Exhibition"

 Mr. Ferrini (12 Grade) will receive an Award of Distinction and Excellence for “ Incredible Gardens” The Art of Collaged Organic Imagery.

 
The ceremony, Thursday-October 17, from 6-8 pm.  The celebrations will feature music by Steel Drum Band students from Oak Grove Elementary and refreshments by DAE. The Incredible Gardens show is on view now through October 18 @ the beautiful Pinecrest Gardens.  Exhibition is sponsored by Pinecrest Gardens and Dade Art Educators Association. The event is free and open to the public."

Miami City Ballet *Opening Night 2013-2014 Season Kickoff Party!*
