VPA Visions Dancers Student Choreography Showcase


Please congratulate our dancers for such creativity in showcasing their talents at Miami High this week!

On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, the AVPA's Visions Dancers participated at the Student Choreography Showcase at Miami High Senior High School.

Through the Visual and Performing Arts Department Division of Academics, each year students in 8th through 12th grade are encouraged to create new dance works and set them on themselves and other students in their dance classes.

Sketchnote for Students

Students, faculty, staff and stakeholders are welcome to participate in a workshop that will help with note-taking while engaging all the senses.

You DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN ARTIST to take this workshop.  Sketchnote is about BIG IDEAS and how to retain information better using the concept of...wait for it..."doodling".

Yes, that is correct, doodling.  Interested?

The workshops will be after school on Thursday, December 6th from 2:30PM-4:30PM in room 1166.

Be ready to get your DOODLE ON!

AVPA clubs participate in Community Service Murals

On Saturday, November 17th, LAMP and NAHS students began a community service project painting a mural on the walls of a private school in Country Walk, Kids for Kids Academy.  Kids for Kids Academy is a school for infants through Kindergarten, which is run by director Beth Davis. 

Completion of the project will be Saturday, December 1st.

Braddock Blue Regiment, almost makes States


The Braddock Blue Regiment competed in Clearwater FL at the FMBC state semi finals, the weekend of Saturday, November 17th. They placed 6th out of 20 bands, being .5 points away from becoming state finalist. 

Please help congratulate these students. Consisting mostly of sophomores and freshman, after graduating over 40 seniors from band last year, band predicted this was a rebuilding year.

AVPA Thespians One Acts

Our Braddock Thespian Troupe earned Superior Ratings and a Critics Choice award! Out of 24 schools Braddock Thespians received top 4 shows. They will move on to represent Braddock at the State Festival in Tampa.

Braddock Blue Regiment 2018

Please congratulate the Braddock Marching Band!

The marching band had success on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Park Vista Marching Band Regional competition.

The Braddock marching band earned 1st in Individual Music, 2nd in Visual Performance, and 2nd in Color Guard.

Overall Braddock earned 3rd place out of 8 bands in their class.

Curriculum Expo showcases VPA Visions Dancers

On October 13, 2018, the VPA Visions Dancers showcased their talents in the auditorium, at the Curriculum Expo, here at G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School.  The dancers presented three performances that evening.

On Friday, May 25th, 2018, the AVPA Visual Arts senior students had their graduation exhibition in the student gallery with a successful turnout!  Please come out and visit the student gallery, room 1169, to support your fellow artists and see their work.

Braddock Theater presents...Into the Woods

The students of the Braddock theatre VPA, would like to invite you to attend our Spring musical! This year we will be producing Into the Woods, and we are so proud of all the work we have accomplished. We have very talented students and I would love for you to come support our department. 

We will open on May 1st and run until May 3rd. Braddock Faculty and Staff members will receive complimentary tickets by showing their school I.D. at the door. For more information, including times and ticket prices for non-staff members, please see the attached poster.

Also, if there are any English teachers who would like to provide their students with an extra credit assignment for attending I have an Into the Woods study guide that you can use. It has themes and topics, questions and assignments, including writing prompts. If this is something that you would be interested in, please send me an email so that I may forward you a copy of the study guide.

Braddock VPA Art students, TOP 10 finalists, in channel 10 eARTh day contest!!!!

Our AVPA ART students were one of the 10 finalists for the Channel 10 eARTh Day Contest.  This is the first annual eARTh Day Contest that channel 10 is hosting which is proudly sponsored by Publix.  
All finalists will have their artworks displayed at the PAMM from April 16-22, 2018.

Voting for this contest runs from March 26, 2018-April 13, 2018. 
You can view and vote for your favorite work of art.  You may cast one vote per valid and active email and IP address per day.
The winning school will be announced on EARTH DAY, Sunday, April 22, 2018 and will receive $4500 in art supplies!

Congratulations Braddock "Bulldog" Orchestra


CONGRATS to Mr. Sacca and Orchestra for their accomplishments at Districts.

The Symphony Orchestra got 2 excellents and 1 superior for their performance at district MPA and superior in site reading which resulted in an overall rating of Excellent.

CONGRATULATIONS - Jazz Ensemble, Band and Auxiliary Solo & Ensemble






Please help congratulate the students from our band program who participated in the District Jazz Band MPA, and also the solo & ensemble event hosted at Coral Park High School this past weekend.

Miami-Dade Youth Fair Fine Arts Exhibition 2018 WINNERS

Congratulations Bulldogs 

Brittany Beauperthuy and Yanela Diaz were accepted into the Miami-Dade Youth Fair Fine Arts Exhibition 2018. 
Additionally Brittany Beauperthuy won second place for her painting. out of thousand of entries only 140 works were accepted. 
This year’s award winners will be recognized on Saturday, April 7, 2018 on the Youth Fair.

Superintendent's Dance Showcase 2018

The AVPA Visions Dancers participated at the 2018 Superintendent's Dance Showcase last night, February 15th, at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center.

The Superintendent's Dance Showcases Miami-Dade County dance performances exhibits students dance talent. Works selected are representative of the various age levels of students and technical levels of dance genres, such schools as Winston Park K8 Center, WR Thomas Middle School and our very own Braddock AVPA Visions Dancers, participated last night.

At the end of the evening, our AVPA Visions Dancers and dance teacher, Mrs. Martin received a plaque for their participation in last night's event.  Congratulations!

Braddock "Bulldog" Orchestra Solo & Ensemble - AVPA

Congratulations to Mr. Sacca and the Braddock “Bulldog” Orchestra students who participated in the District solo & Ensemble festival hosted here at Braddock this past Saturday.

Twenty -two (22) Students earned SUPERIOR RATINGS

Seven (7) Students earned EXCELLENT

Pinecrest Gardens Environmental Photography Contest

Please congratulate Dual Enrollment Junior, Christine Sainz, for her 4th place award in the Pinecrest Gardens Environmental Photography Contest, in the Gardens Choice Award category. Christine received a certificate and an award of a $100 for placing in the contest.

Other Braddock students who participated were seniors, Ernest Manzano and Sophia Martinez.
