John Adkins, guest speaker, shares his thoughts on Facebook

Last week, on Thursday, January 15th,  Braddock students, faculty and staff participated in a guest speaker lecture on writing, illustration and publishing talk with artist John Adkins, from Miami Dade College-Kendall Campus.  Adkins took to Facebook to share his thoughts on his visit with our school.

Lecture last week to high school students on illustrating a book and the process of publishing my last children's book. It was a lot of fun and there were many good questions on the process! Thank you Zoraida Haibi Figuera for the invitation!

Thursday, January 15, 2014, artist, author, illustrator and Miami Dade College, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, John Adkins visited Braddock to speak with students about writing, publishing, art, marketing and integrity with his work.

Students, faculty and administration participated as Adkins shared his experiences as an artist and the process in which he used in order to self publish his children's book.  He discussed marketing techniques for his book, in addition to his experiences as an artist.

Writing and Illustration Workshop/Guest Speaker

Miami Dade College, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, John Adkins, will be joining the Braddock community, to talk about his children's book, "Animals Get Scared Too, Just Like You".  John is also an active artist in the community and will be showing his original illustrations from the book and will be answering questions about writing and illustration.
