The application deadline is Thursday, October 15th, 2015.

To participate in the Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards you must be:

·     Planning to enroll in college in 2016-2017
·     Of Hispanic/Latino descent (at least one parent)
·     Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or 7.5 (on a 10.0 scale)
·     Willing to travel at own cost to the awards ceremony in your selected region (regional ceremony attendance is mandatory for students who are selected)

Students are selected for their accomplishments in the classroom and community, and for their focus on various categories. Recipients are awarded up to $3,000 in educational grants to be used for their college education or to fund a community service effort. In each of the 11 regions, three students will be honored in various categories including those listed below.  The regions include: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Phoenix, Rio Grande Valley, San Jose and Washington, DC.  Students from across the USA can apply in the region nearest to their area of residence in an effort to ensure all Latino students have an opportunity for the Youth Awards. If selected, the students only have to attend the awards event to receive their award.
